Custom Waves

A question for those that programmed the oscillators or for those who are in charge of the revision of the operating system.
Thereīs no way of get memory space in the dspīs to upload single cycles or samples waves via midi or usb and use it like oscillators?
Maybe in a future revision you could do this upgrade, sure the users of this synths will be grateful.

Anyway: if you read this and you like it support it and maybe we get it!

Sorry to be the spoilsport, but DSI has said previously, that the codespace inside the Prophet 12 is filled to the brimpoint, so nothing new will find it's way in there... I think you should consider the Prophet 12 as "what you see is what you get" these days... have not been an update for a very long time now.

I know that there was talk about the extra waveforms that the Pro2 has, because many wanted these in the Prophet 12 as well, but it was explained as "not possible" back then... so I'd say; forget about it... what you have now is all it will ever be :) ... be happy with what you got, instead of what you do not... besides, the Prophet 12 is one of DSI's most stable synths in my opinion.

Thanks for your answers!
Iīm quite happy with  I get with this synth, hehe.....buuuuut I think that with  this upgrade I could get other timbres easily, without the sometimes tedious programming. Maybe I could dispense with some of the wave types of the synthesizer itself as well as violet noise in order to load my own waveforms. Imagine this instrument with other waveforms through those filters. Maybe I have to change my question.
Could you do a new upgrade by removing a waveform and leaving that space to load customs waveforms?
Would you like this to happen?

Removing a waveform would mean that loads of previously programed presets would sound wrong, so i personally would not like such a move, and i am pretty certain DSI would never destroy backward compatibility.

I understand your wishes, i have a few features i would like to see as well, but with DSI's comments on this earlier, I would simply forget about it, and take the synth for what it is... I feel that this is the most certain philosophy about DSI instruments... What you see is what you get... Even with some known bugs as well...

Hello again
I admire your persistence, ok i forget it
buuuut
How many presets have the violet noise wave?
I could do without this waveform, I prefer one place (or two) for custom waves like prophet vs!
I survive without DSI presets that contain violet noise!
Pls give me a vote of favor
Custom waves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

offtopic: are you Ziphoid on Soundcloud? lf you are, love your music!

Nope... Ziphoid hosts the C-64 remix site and all the C-64 remixes... I just happen to know him and he has given me some free space for my files ;)

About the Violet noise... I do not know how many presets that use it, but I'm pretty darn certain you'll not get DSI to remove anything already in there... besides, noise "waveforms" are algorithmic, not a waveform in memory because if you only have a single cycle of noise, it would just sound like a static bright tone... the only waves in there to exchange would be the wavetable ones... I'm not even certain that the standard analog waveforms are in there as waveforms in a table... they are probably also generated algorithmically like the noise "waveforms".

Don't get me wrong, I'd REALLY have liked the P12 to have user waves like the Evolvers... that is one of the biggest omissions from the Evoler series, along with the missing sequencers... but I followed the debate on the forum when DSI was asked to include extra waves... and the response was rather direct... it cannot be done (or wont, that's up to you to decide)... just wanted you to not sit and wait for something that will never happen... I've tried that a couple of times with DSI before, so I'm talking from experience ;) ... be happy instead, that the P12 is the synth from DSI with least unfixed bugs (if there are any left at all... don't know).

I'm waiting for DSI to give us all a sampler synth instead, with VCF/VCA/FX ... then you can put all the waves in that one :D (if they ever make one that is)
